Sigrid's arrival on the international pop scene has caused a buzz. The Norwegian 20-year-old, whose name translates as “wisdom” or “victory” in ancient Norse, has been a pro for the last four years. She started when her brother, also a musician, invited her to share the stage with him, but mandated that she play an original song. The challenge gave her the courage to start writing. In 2013 her song "Sun" got some great traction in her homeland. Now part of the Island records artist roster, she’s currently making a dent on the charts from Australia to Scotland with "Don't Kill My Vibe," a feisty pop anthem about leaving the haters behind. She was backed by a four-piece band at her Vevo dscvr performance, and they brought some natural drama to the song’s irresistible refrain.
